![]() As with its biomes, Below Zero's plant and animal life is almost entirely new, but it's also more nuanced in terms of how you can interact with them. That said, Below Zero remains better where it's wetter. It's a big improvement over Subnautica's limited land exploration. If you actually mean more fun, then of course that's up to you.(Image credit: Unknown Worlds Entertainment) The few that you can't get a truck in are full of air plants anyway.Īs I said, I miss the 'moth, but if by better you mean more useful and capable the truck is objectively better in many regards. If you're not interested in speed then other than looks and sound (I am hoping they change the trucks engine noise, myself and others have suggested it) the only advantage it has over the truck is it's size, and there's less tiny cave systems you'd want to squeeze it into in this game. After my 1st run I switched to playing on hardcore, so I could live with just 2 lockers for a bit of extra security. I mostly used it to get bone sharks to leave me alone whilst building stuff but occasionally came in handy if i wasn't paying attention and got grabbed. It works in the first game, scares away most things, and will make a reaper drop you before it does much damage. I think it's been fixed in experimental but I'm back on stable atm as I'm trying to find a way to recreate some bugs so haven't tried it yet. ![]() The perimeter defence is still a bit buggy in BZ. Just pointing out that you could have it attached and still have as much space as you get on a seamoth without reducing the trucks speed at all. ![]() I don't use the prawn as just a storage extension, the storage module holds more. Following that line of reason to it's logical end you don't even need to play the game at all. You don't need it, but then, you don't need any of the subs, I'm pretty sure you could finish both games with just a seaglide if you really wanted, I've been meaning to try it but not gotten around to it yet. If you want to build a large base and / or have a good supply of ion cubes the prawn is very helpful. I do miss the 'moth though, it felt so nice to pilot and looked great. Truck + prawn dock & prawn is (EDIT: equal to or) better than the 'moth in almost every way. 2 boosters give close to 100% uptime on boosting if you alternate them (though will chew through power cells fast). This means you can skip the storage module and just have the prawn dock attached to the truck and you'll still have as much storage as you did in a 'moth with 3 lockers whilst also being able to still have perimeter defence and 2 boosters, since you don't need the horsepower upgrade with just 1 module attached. It also has quite a lot of storage, about the same as 3 seamoth storage units IIRC. The prawn has the drill, which is irreplaceable. You can't get the sonar, which was cool, but also crazy OP as it made exploring stupefyingly easy. It also has way more health than the 'moth. With 1 storage and the prawn dock it still moves at a decent speed with the horsepower upgrade. :PĪ seatruck with 1 storage module, the Mk3 depth module (900m), the booster upgrade and the perimeter defence is functionally almost identical to a seamoth.
